Long Distant Gift Ideas
Question:
Could you please help us? My husband has a brother who is French, I'll call him Dan. Dan was fathered during World War II. Well, Dan is about to be married for the 2nd time to a lady who also was married before. Our problem is: We will not be able to attend the Wedding as it will be in France. We are not familiar about French customs, but would like to send an appropriate gift from a brother. Do you have any
suggestions?? (He is in his 50's and they both have chidren) Also, what sort of gift would be appropriate from Dan's father and his wife. They get along splendidly. But are in the same boat as us. Please respond as soon as possible!
Sincerely,
Cin Dear Cin,
When choosing a wedding gift for a loved one far away, it takes a lot of thought and ingenuity. You want something that is very unique and destined to become a
treasured family heirloom. Consider an elegant lace table cloth that can be used for every special occasion for the rest of their lives or a handmade crocheted or knitted afghan. Items made especially for the couple will be cherished for years to come. Another idea along this line could include a photo album put together by the groom's father, with photo's of his son's growing up years and happy memories they made together. There are innumerable memory making organizers,
available to create unique and special pages, by simply adding pictures along particular theme lines, such as birthday pages, Christmas pages, vacation pages, school days, and the list goes on and on. Always remember, anything lovingly handmade from the heart, will be warmly received.
I hope this has helped generate other ideas as you make your gift selection. Thanks for writing and good luck!
