56. When I got married, I had the best man escort both mothers and my fiancée walked down the aisle with his father just like I walked down the aisle with my father. It is the groom's day too.
57. I wanted to do something different for the centerpieces at my reception tables, so I decided to make my own candles. I used the dried flower petals that I had been saving from all of
the flowers my fiancée had given me from the time we started dating. I thought that they were a true testament of how our relationship had grown, there were the first flowers he had ever given me, I love you, I'm Sorry, Get Well, thinking of You, Valentine's Day, and anniversary flowers, all the way up to the purple roses he gave me when he asked me to marry him. They turned out beautifully and everyone loved them,
58. My fiancé' and I are facing the audience when we marry instead of the preacher. The attendants in the wedding will make a circle around us. Also, instead of the traditional wedding march, a friend's son is going to sing "YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL" when I walk down the isle with my father. Since no one at my church has ever done either of these things it will be a unique experience for all involved.
59. I saw the cutest idea on a friend's wedding cake. Instead of the traditional man and woman on top of the wedding cake, they had found plastic replicas of their college team mascots and placed them on top. It was such a great idea and got a lot of attention...
60. My fiancée and I are avid golfers, so our wedding will be on our favorite golf course. Jerry will be teeing off with his
groomsmen first, then my maid of honor and bridesmaid will tee off with me next. After nine holes we'll get married on the ninth hole. Then playing nine more holes together as a married couple. After we have finished the last nine holes, the reception will be in the clubhouse. Guests are invited to play golf starting an hour before we tee off. I have a photographer and a videographer riding in golf carts taking pictures of the whole
event. My mother doesn't play golf, but that won't stop her from riding around in a cart watching us. I'm looking forward to the big day, just praying for good weather. (I own a rain suit and rain golf gloves--I'll be playing rain or shine!)
61. In place of a guest book, we have ordered a custom photo mat that has a lot of space around the photo. We are then
placing our engagement photo inscribed with a "marriage covenant" that each guest's signature symbolizes his or her support of the marriage. Guests will sign this with an acid free pen. We will replace the photo with a wedding photo after the ceremony and hang it in our home.
62. For our upcoming wedding, I will not carry a bouquet. Rather, as I walk down the aisle, each guest seated at the
